COOL AIR FROM THE OCEAN MAKING IT TOUGH FOR THE WARM AIR TO MOVE INTO HAMPTON ROADS… A FRONTAL SYSTEM SHOULD BRING SIGNIFICANT RAIN LATE MONDAY THROUGH EARLY WEDNESDAY… COOLER WEATHER WILL MOVE BACK IN

Cool air from the Atlantic made Saturday a dreary day with fog and some drizzle in places. The warm air should be able to make some progress today (Sunday) but it will be tough to dislodge the cool, marine air. Temperatures on Sunday were adjusted downward due to the persistence of the cool air from the ocean. Temperatures should still be above normal on Sunday. The thinking is that the warm air should win out at some point but not everyone will get into the warm sector. On Monday, a cold front will be approaching so rain chances will increase late in the day. Right now, forecasters are predicting a decent amount of rain should fall from late Monday through Wednesday morning. Once the front move through, temperatures will be closer to normal for this time of year. We should completely dry out by Thursday.
