VERY WARM AND HUMID CONDITIONS WILL PREVAIL AND RELIEF WILL NOT COME UNTIL LATER THIS WEEK

The weather over the next few days will be basically the same with subtle day to day changes; warm and humid with just a chance of a shower or thunderstorm in spots, mostly during the afternoon and evening. However, in a pattern like this, any rain that falls can be quite heavy with dew points in the low to mid seventies. On Saturday, as the warm and humid air mass moved into the region, showers and storms developed and in my Virginia Beach neighborhood, nearly an inch of rain fell. Temperatures this upcoming week probably won’t break any records, but it will be quite warm each afternoon through mid-week. On Thursday, a cold front is expected to bring some relief dropping high temperatures to the 80’s. The cold front should trigger some shower and thunderstorm activity… I just wanted to mention that the drought across the nation has been increasing in areal coverage. No relief is in site which is bad news for the farmers in the Mid-West and other areas affected by the dry conditions. That’s it for now. Thanks for reading and have a great day.
