COOLER WEATHER IS ON THE WAY… IT MAY GET STORMY LATER IN THE WEEK… HURRICANE TOMAS STRENGTHENS IN THE CARIBBEAN

Halloween will be perfect with high temperatures near 70. A dry cold front will be approaching Sunday night which will switch our winds to a more northerly direction. This will set the stage for a cool beginning to our work week. Temperatures may not make it out of the 50’s on Monday in some areas. Sunshine should be abundant, however. Meanwhile a large trough of low pressure is expected to develop near the East Coast by mid-week as a high pressure area moves off the New England Coast. Low pressure is expected to develop to our south and west spreading rain into the Mid-Atlantic States by Thursday as it looks now. Could this system pull in the moisture and/or energy from Hurricane Tomas? Phasing of the two systems could occur but that is not in the forecast right now. Either way, we may have a windy and rainy end to the work week. The island of Hispaniola and some of the surrounding islands should pay close attention to the future track of this hurricane. The country of Haiti is still recovering from the earthquake earlier this year and the disease outbreaks that have plagued this area. They definitely don’t need a major hurricane to hit them so soon after such a devastating year. So, stay tuned to your local media this week as things could get interesting later in the week. Have a great day and don’t eat too much candy!
