CLOUDS INCREASE ON MONDAY WITH RAIN EXPECTED ON TUESDAY… WEDNESDAY COULD ALSO BE UNSETTLED… IMPROVING WEATHER SEEMS LIKELY LATER IN THE WEEK

You won’t see that much sunshine over the next few days (at least through Wednesday) and Tuesday looks to be quite wet. An approaching frontal system looks to bring SE VA a soaking rain early on Tuesday. The rain should begin Monday night. The QPF maps are quite impressive for a significant rain event. And, the frontal system will be slow to pull away so Wednesday could be another unsettled day, although forecasters think right now that most of the rain will fall on Tuesday. Temperatures will remain cool for April due to an onshore wind and the cloud cover. Of course, rain is a good thing during the spring as many plants and trees are now blooming. Farmers also appreciate the rain. Remember, we are still running below normal this year despite a very wet March. By Thursday, we should dry out and the dry weather should last through the weekend. When will we see a sustained period of above normal temperatures? It probably won’t be this week but be patient. Soon, we’ll all be complaining about the heat and humidity.
