THE ROLLER COASTER RIDE CONTINUES AS TEMPERATURES FLUCTUATE WITH EACH PASSING FRONTAL SYSTEM… WHAT WILL THE WEEKEND BE LIKE?

We’ve been seeing a very progressive weather pattern the past few days. On Monday, it was very mild for mid-Decemeber. Tuesday was cold and damp and Wednesday, temperatures are back up there but not as warm as they were on Monday. The roller-coaster ride in temperatures is basically caused by the configuration of the jet stream, which is the divinding line between bitter cold weather and the mild weather that has flirted with our region of late. As we move through the end of the week, the temperature fluctuations should continue. Although it could shower during any one of the frontal passages, forecasters don’t see siginificant rain until we get to Sunday, when a more important system comes our way. The bitter cold across the Mid-West is not really coming our way so the chance of any frozen precipitation in our area remains low. However, there may be some to our north as we head into Friday.
